Where to get Xero Sandals Laces (a niche problem)

As the title gives away, I have a niche problem... Buying barefoot gear online can be challenging, whether it is due to shipping costs or because it can be difficult to find exactly what you're looking for. In this short post, I share my search for Xero's sandal laces and offer a practical solution.

Xero Sandals: you get one pair of laces

I live in Switzerland and I'm a big Xero Shoes fan. It all started with their DIY sandals. While Switzerland is actually located in Europe (I know, shocking news), Xero's EU shop unfortunately does not ship to Switzerland. Whaaat?! I can hear you gasp through the screen. Thank you for sharing the sentiment.

Xero's US shop does ship to Switzerland, so when I make a Xero Shoes order, I use their US site. I won't talk about the customs fees in Switzerland - that is another niche problem and one that I have no solution for.

The thing is, you get one pair of laces with each pair of sandals - but you you likely need more.

As you may know, Xero sandals come with long laces. They last some people more than others, depending on how often and how you use them. My laces seem to last a long time, but I needed to buy extra laces because I cut my first pair of laces too short - see how to avoid my mistakes in this post. Xero's laces are very durable and they come in a wide range of beautiful colors. My partner for example, runs and hikes long hours through rough terrain in his Xero sandals, so he needs to fix up and replace the laces more often.

So where does one go to buy more Xero sandals laces?

I didn't want to go to the Xero Shoes US shop just to make a custom order of extra laces, so I decided to look for a more local option. Luckily, I found ZaMi, a Spanish shop which sent me just what I needed: original Xero laces, sent from Europe to Europe (Switzerland)! Their shipping was very fast and at a reasonable price via Correos, the Spanish post. It was so nice to find this out, I had to share it.

But good news are not over yet, ZaMi - zapatillas minimalistas - is your friend for other things too. They also helped me through a long, nearly hopeless crusade in the search for Toe socks. What are toe socks?, you ask. Take a look at my Barefoot Glossary to find out. And you can read all about the sock crusade in this post!

I hope you enjoyed this practical advice post, see you in the next one!
